Do you like pina Coladas?

If so, you are going to love this breakfast. It tastes like something you might have on a tropical island.

Oatmeal is a great breakfast when eating a whole food plant-based diet because you can add many different ingredients to change it up each day. It will also keep you full for a long time when you add fruit and nuts. I like to add flaxseed to min to get the extra protein, omega 3s, and fiber. To sweeten this up a bit, I used date sugar. Dr. Greger, Author of “How Not to Die,” recommends Date sugar or molasses as a sweetener. He states the healthiest sweetener on the planet is date sugar. It has fiber and nutrition since its a whole plant food. You can use honey, but there is no nutritional value to honey. I highly recommend the date sugar when you need to sweeten something!

Next time you wake up on a cloudy morning, give this bowl of sunshine a try. It’s guaranteed to cheer you up!
