Crispy Black Bean Wontons

I love any kind of wonton, especially crispy ones! I came across Vegan wonton wrappers when I was grocery shopping so I had to pick them up. I’ve been using my air fryer a lot since eating whole food plant-based to avoid the extra oil, so I decided to make wontons in the air fryer. You could also make this recipe in the oven if you don’t have an air fryer.

For the filling, I use matchstick carrots, garlic, bok choy, red onion, sesame seeds, and black beans. I love beans so I try to add them to recipes when I can. I also add them to get some plant protein since I’m not eating animal protein.

Two of my kids tried these and liked them. My son Harrison liked them but said he would rather have the filling with no beans. He would like me to make them next time without the beans. So when you try this recipe, you may or may not want to add the beans:-)

Add about 1 tbsp of filling to the wonton wrapper
fold over half to make a triangle, brush edges with water
Pinch edges and fold ends of triangle down
Place in Air Fryer, brush with water, 375 for 10 minutes,
